The Hoedown is York Region’s largest annual fundraising event for local charities, non-profits, and community groups. It began as a backyard barbeque in 1987 for friends and neighbors at a family farm in Aurora, Ontario.
Each year the event grows and is attended by thousands of local residents who enjoy live country entertainment, games, and great food. Historically, the event has raised over $29 million dollars for participating charities, non-profits and community groups that serve York Region.
Last year, Magna and their sponsors raised $479,000 for the fifteen participants.
In 2016, LifeCorps Food Share became a charity recipient for the first time. Through ticket sales, LCFS managed to receive a significant donation, which assisted in the procurement of our very first refrigerated straight truck. This truck is now collecting and delivering fresh produce, dairy and meat for our clients throughout York Region.
On September 15th and 16th, 2017, join us again at the annual Hoedown.
Please support us through the purchase of raffle tickets ($100,000 top prize) and event tickets.
